United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) was granted candidacy status for accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in 1978. In 1982, UTTC was granted full accreditation status and has maintained continuous accreditation status since that time.
2011: UTTC was granted continued accreditation for all associate level degree programs, full authority to offer all degree programs online, and approval of the institutional change to offer three baccalaureate degree programs.
2016: UTTC was granted approval to offer a fourth baccalaureate degree in Environmental Science & Research.
2021: The HLC continued the accreditation of United Tribes College with the next Reaffirmation of Accreditation in 2030-31.

UTTC is also a member of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium and the North Dakota Tribal College Association.
The UTTC Automotive Technology program, working in conjunction with the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, qualifies graduates to take the nationally approved Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exams. The Automotive Technology program achieved NATEF certification in the spring of 2013.

The UTTC Elementary Education bachelor of science degree program participated in a site visit for continuous approval in spring 2014. As a result of this visit, the North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board (ND ESPB) granted the program approval for seven years, until 2021 (for more information about UTTC Teacher Education, link to this site: ted.uttc.edu).

The UTTC Nutrition and Foodservice program is approved by the Association of Nutrition and Food Services Professionals, which allows graduates to qualify as Certified Dietary Managers (CDMs). Graduates are also eligible to write the National Restaurant Association ServSafe exam.

Complaint Process
